Counseling - Drug and Alcohol Abuse

Persad is sensitive to the needs of the LGBT population and offers welcoming, sensitive and discreet outpatient substance abuse services to help individuals recover from drug and alcohol abuse.

For many LGBT people seeking substance abuse services, issues of sexual identity and homophobia are central to the progression of the disease of addiction. Because mental health issues and substance abuse too often complicate attempts at recovery, Persad offers intensive outpatient programming that focuses on recovery from both. Intensive Outpatient Services include educational groups that focus on substance abuse and dependence, mental health disorders and medication; skills for relapse prevention, effective communication and better decision-making.

Services provided include:

Individual Therapy • Family/Couples Counseling • Group Counseling • Psychiatric Care • Referrals

Persad is happy to serve as the meeting space for The Rainbow Bridge, a LGBT friendly 12 step recovery meeting every Friday evening at 7pm.
