Youth - Empowerment Project

The Youth Empowerment Project is an HIV and STD Prevention Program for youth and young adults. The program is based on the Center for Disease Control (CDC) designated effective intervention: MPowerment. The project trains young people to reach out to their peers and deliver messages of HIV and STD prevention through safer sex practices. YEP members receive special training and then are supported in creating activities to reach youth as well as in attending community events, distributing condoms and safer sex information. YEP members have regular group meetings and activities.
