The Research Center at Persad is committed to conducting research studies and providing researchopportunities for individuals interested in answering critical questions regarding the reasons for and solutions to the health disparities experienced by our target populations. With 30 years of clinical experience in the field of behavioral health for LGBT and HIV affected individuals and families,
Persad provides an excellent site for research study. Persad is a member of the Center for Research on Health and Sexual Orientation at the University of Pittsburgh. Persad has a collaborative relationship with Metro Family Practice, Inc. a primary health provider to the LGBT community, to conduct projects involving both physical and behavioral health issues.

In 2003, Persad partnered with the Pittsburgh Gay and Lesbian Community Center, The Seven Project, and The University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public Health to complete the first ever Community Needs Assessment (part 1/part 2)of the LGBT community in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
