WHO WE ARE

Kat Whittam, LPC
Therapist
Kat is a 2014 graduate of Mercyhurst University where she received her BS in Psychology. Her passion to help children and support families led them to work as a Mental Health Worker at Glade Run residential treatment facility in the preteen girl unit. Based on that experience, Kat decided to go to graduate school to become a therapist and work with children. After graduating with her MS in Professional Counseling from Carlow University, Kat worked at TRAC Services for Families as a Child Therapist. During her time at TRAC, Kat was trained in Trauma Informed Therapy and Trust Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) with a focus on children in foster care. From 2022 to 2024 Kat worked at The Children’s Institute of Pittsburgh as an outpatient therapist and part time school-based therapist. During this time, Kat learned the importance of looking at situations holistically and working as a team with parents and teachers. Kat joined the Persad Center in February of 2024 and proudly supports her clients as they explore their emotions, gain skills, and achieve their goals
