Drug and Alcohol Dual Diagnosis Intensive Outpatient Program

Persad Center’s Drug and Alcohol Dual Diagnosis Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is the first LGBTQ+ competent IOP in the Greater Pittsburgh Area. The IOP is a structured program for those individuals who need more support than traditional outpatient therapy and is often a step down from inpatient treatment and/or partial hospitalization.

Those enrolled in Persad’s IOP will attend 9 hours of group for the first 4 weeks, then 6 hours of group for the remaining 12 weeks. In addition to group therapy, participants have their own therapist, as well as psychiatric/medication management services with Persad’s Medical Director.

The IOP uses the Matrix Model as the treatment approach. It draws on multiple evidence-based treatments such as cognitive behavioral therapy, contingency management, and 12-step facilitation therapy. Through this particular model, therapists will assist participants with stopping the addiction cycle, identifying triggers, introducing support systems, and learning skills to support recovery and maintain sobriety.

To sign up for this program or to make a referral, contact our Intake . Current Persad clients can access the IOP by speaking to their therapist.
