WHO WE ARE

Tyson Dryer
Therapist
Tyson’s passion for gender identity work began during his master's research project at Penn State University which focused on the lived experiences of African American transgender men and masculine individuals. He launched his therapy career by educating teens about safe binding and fostering healthy development as a transgender individual and is currently in the process of obtaining his LPC licensure.
Tyson’s dedication to supporting the LGBTQ+ community led to him joining Persad in 2024. With experience in cognitive and trauma-focused behavioral therapy, play therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy skills and family therapy, Tyson’s clients span all ages of people dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, and social skills challenges. He strongly believes that representation is fundamental to the therapy field, as he identifies with both the BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities.

In his downtime, Tyson unwinds by playing guitar, video games, basketball, and getting lost in Magic: The Gathering Arena. He shares his home with his partner and three adorable cats. Tyson also loves fidgets, is a fan of the color yellow, has a soft spot for elephants, is curious about the universe, and is always on the lookout for exciting local activities or cuisine.
