Ginger Vermillion

Clinical Administrative Assistant

Ginger has worked in the mental health and substance use treatment fields since 2004, beginning her career in Green Bay, Wisconsin as a caregiver in a group home supporting men with traumatic brain injuries and mental disabilities. She later returned to school and earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Wisconsin in 2016.

That same year, Ginger relocated to Pittsburgh, where she worked as an intake counselor at an outpatient substance use treatment center in the Hill District. In 2018, she was accepted into the master’s program in psychology at Carlow University and earned her MA in 2020.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Ginger served as a crisis clinician at Pittsburgh Mercy’s Central Recovery Center (CRC) in the South Side from 2020 to 2022, and later at Resolve Crisis Services from 2022 to 2024. In these roles, she conducted intake crisis assessments and helped connect clients to appropriate community resources and ongoing care.

In late 2025, Ginger joined Persad Center as a Clinical Administrative Assistant, fulfilling her long-standing goal of supporting LGBTQ+ individuals in a mental health setting.

Outside of work, Ginger enjoys watching movies—especially film noir, schlock/B-movies, and Italian westerns—reading, participating in bar trivia, and caring for her beloved cat, Boots.
