Katie is a dedicated communicator and advocate, utilizing thoughtful communication and an inclusive approach in her work.

A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, Katie earned their Bachelor of Arts in Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s Studies, as well as Communications. During their time at the university, they served on the student government's Diversity & Inclusion committee and were recognized with an award from the GSWS Department for their writing. 

Katie has held a variety of roles, including coaching the Pittsburgh girl’s youth Ultimate frisbee team, serving as operations manager at UltiPhotos, and leading projects like comprehensive photography coverage for the inaugural women’s professional Ultimate league and a BIPOC Ultimate athlete showcase tour.

Most recently, Katie worked as a barista at Starbucks, where they served as a store Union leader & organizer and was elected as the store’s bargaining representative during contract negotiations. Throughout their career, Katie has learned the importance of advocating for tangible support for marginalized communities and is excited to continue supporting the queer community in their role at Persad. Outside of work, Katie enjoys printmaking, cooking, thrifting, and spending time with their cats and girlfriend.
